The Landmark District Marks a New Era as Kelowna’s Creative Heart

KELOWNA, British Columbia — The Landmark District has a new brand identity that celebrates the true spirit of this growing community — a spirit of creativity, connection, and care for Kelowna’s uniqueness and vitality. The rebrand signals Stober Group’s intention for the Landmark District to be a culturally vibrant hub where people will live, work, and play for generations to come.

A Legacy for the Community

The vision for the Landmark District is the culmination of Stober Group’s dedication to community stewardship, as well as its deep local roots. Al Stober founded the company in 1957 and, over the following decades, became renowned for his philanthropy and profound impact on Kelowna’s development. With the Landmark District, Stober Group intends to extend this legacy of economic and community leadership well into the future.

A Vision for the Future

Bold and modern, the new look reflects Stober Group’s intent to create a holistic neighborhood bursting with colour, energy, and culture. Three foundational principles will shape the growth of the district.

First, Stober Group is focused on building neighbourhood character by embracing progressive design, supporting local artists and creative institutions, and celebrating the local culture already thriving in the Landmark District.

Second, a fresh approach to public areas will see the introduction of new green spaces, creative events and activities, and pedestrian experiences that make the entire district more walkable.

Third, Stober Group is moving the community forward by emphasizing social connections, leveraging technology and media, and championing the people and organizations that inspire the community.

Kelowna’s Creative Heart

The new tagline “Kelowna’s Creative Heart” reflects the district’s location in the heart of Kelowna, as well as Stober Group’s heartfelt commitment to nurturing collaboration and innovation. Together with a heart-shaped logo that depicts Kelowna’s iconic landscape, it captures the essence of Stober Group’s local and community-focused ethos.

With a diverse mix of entrepreneurial tenants, the district is already a central hub where locals come together to exchange ideas. A robust calendar of events, from networking sessions to creative workshops, will fortify these connections and cater to the broader Kelowna community.

Stober Group is also committed to collaborating with local groups to infuse the district with art, music, and culinary experiences. The arrival of the twice-weekly Kelowna Farmers’ and Crafters’ Market in April 2024 is already enriching the district’s cultural tapestry.

With a new identity that honours Stober Group’s heritage, vision, and steadfast commitment to community, the Landmark District is at the start of a new chapter as a cultural, residential, and economic hub that enriches people’s lives.
